About

Ludonaut Games is the creation of three siblings who grew up in the wintery hinterland of Montana. Outside was filled with ice and bears, so we spent a lot of time indoors making up games to play with each other. Now, from our family to yours (and with a little help from a factory in Guangdong, China), we humbly present our first published game: In A World. We hope that it entertains you, delights you, and takes you on an adventure.

What does “ludonaut” mean?

“Ludo” is Latin for “play,” and “naut” means explorer. So a ludonaut is an explorer of play!

What inspired In A World?

We wanted to create a game that was easy to pick up and accessible to everyone, from grandparents to younger siblings. We liked the format of Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, but we wanted to encourage imaginative problem-solving and group role-playing. After years of throwing ridiculous "would you rather?" questions at each other, we decided to structure the wild scenarios we dreamt up into a formal card game, and In A World was born.

What's next for Ludonaut Games?

We're working on a game called Conspiracy, which takes inspiration from social deduction games like Mafia and Werewolf. We're doing something new with Conspiracy that we haven't seen before in any other games, so we're excited to introduce a genre-defying experience to our players.
